Love their sushi. They really need descriptors on their online menu. You really have no idea what you're getting. Recently opened the other half of the restaurant as hibachi. Very nice place. You can watch the teppanyaki through glass while you eat on the regular side.

Great food, fun atmosphere, family friendly.

The food selection was amazing. I don't eat meat, and asked to substitute the meat options in the Japanese curry rice dish with tofu, and it was no issue at all. That was a huge relief, and the food tasted delicious. Service was also great. The servers and bussers were very attentive and polite.

One of the restaurants I go to on a regular basis. The staff is always friendly and the inside of the restaurant is very nice and cozy. The new Hibachi section added a few months ago is very visually enticing. Sushi is always good and consistent. I have had better but the quality is high for the price being paid.

The sushi here is always fresh tasting and we'll prepared. Very friendly and attentive staff. We went on a very busy Friday evening during Lent and had zero problems with wait times or service. The Shrimp-Tini is delicious!

Good rolls but very pricey. Many specialty rolls over $15. Not as good as it was before it offered hibachi. Nice variety of appetizers. The calamari and shrimp-tini are delicious.

Food was fresh and flavorful! Sushi very good. Atmosphere is pretty basic. New waitress was very friendly and worked hard to make our dinner very good.

Great eats, great staff. Not over priced but it is quick to rack up a bill for two with sake. Sometimes run sake BOGO specials. Highly recommend the trip to Harahan.

We went there for my son's birthday it was great we did the hibachi the service was excellent and the food was great if you get a chance going to try them out

Very disappointed in the food at Taste of Tokyo. Got the shrimp with toasted pecans -- it was horrible -- shrimp with an undercooked tempura batter swimming in a boatload of sauce that was like butterscotch topping you would put on ice cream -- so sweet as to be inedible. Incidentally, the "Shrimptini" appetizer (shared by the group) was essentially the same thing -- minus the pecans and served in a martini glass. What was advertised as "fried rice" was nothing more than steamed white rice with a few splashes of soy sauce. I won't be back -- there are other better options even in this somewhat remote area of suburban New Orleans.

Love the hibachi with the filet and veggies! My husband loves their sushi, especially their upside down roll.

Touristy, okay food, casual, family ambiance, noisey, friendly. Small cocktails. Twice a year is enough for me.

Love the hibachi and the sushi rolls. The hibachi chefs are funnier than most and really give an experience to people who have never been before. Service is always on point. Go on a Wednesday and get a free bottle of wine. You can drink it there or bring it home!

The food was ok, service was excellent hence the 4 stars. Large selection of sushi rolls and also has a hibachi area as well. Sushi rolls were a bit bland for the ones we had. Will have to try it again before passing judgement.

This is our new spot for carryout. Miso soup was great, the katsu and sushi were amazing... and then the tempura brownie and tempura cheesecake were impossibly delicious. Like, they shouldn't make them that good because we ate well past being full. We will definitely be back. Plus we left an extra $20 bill by accident and where some people would've just pocketed that they actually brought it out to the car. Just speaks to the quality of the people there in addition to the food.

Consistent flavors, timeliness of service, and very welcoming restaurant. Love this place!Point of information: When a table orders sushi and hot items, there will be a gap between receiving items. One is prepared in the kitchen, the other at the sushi bar. This is to be expected. At other restaurants I've visited, when the items arrive at the same time, something is becoming warm (sushi) or cooked items are cooling down. I hope this helps explain some of what others have described as service issues.We are at TOT frequently and have not had issues with the items we've ordered. In fact, we're there often enough, we know servers by name.

Presentation, freshness, flavor, and service usually seen at only very high end restaurants. Exceptional.

This is the best Sushi my wife and I have ever experienced. The wait staff is quick and alert and though previous reviews complain about wait times to us that is a sign we are at the right place because people wait for good food. People wait a long time for outstanding food and that is what we experienced!

Fantastic sushi restaurant. Timely, great service. Went on a Wednesday and they had free bottles wine for every $50 spent...aka wine Wednesday. The food tasted amazing and we were incredibly happy with Eric?? who just prepared something to a budget for us. Convenient, quiet location by the airport. When discovering restaurants, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Pro tip: order the REAL wasabi. You’ll never go back to wanting green horseradish again.

I'm a regular here. Definitely the best sushi! Often one of the owners greet us. Gary is always friendly and ask for Tien my favorite waiter!

Love everything I've ever gotten there. The menu is very long but that's not a complaint! Great place for rolls and reasonably priced.

Absolutely delicious! The best sushi we've ever had. The place was packed, but we were seated right away and the wait staff was friendly and "johnny on the spot". Also the manager or owner came by to chat with us. We will be back, Lord willing!
